Radiology

Radiology is a medical specialty that uses imaging such as x-rays, ultrasound, MRI and CT scans to diagnose and treat diseases. Radiology at Royal Perth Hospital is the largest and longest established tertiary public hospital Radiology department in Perth.

Imaging studies undertaken include:

We are linked with the other tertiary hospitals via a sophisticated archiving and communications system with full digital picture capacity.

Our service is divided into sub-specialised teams based on general and neurological intervention, ultrasound, abdominal and body, musculoskeletal, women’s imaging and neuroradiology.

Our services are accredited under the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme (external site) through the National Association of Testing Authorities (external site).

Royal Perth Hospital is accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (external site).

We also provide a 24 hour inpatient / Emergency Department service.
