Haematology Department
The Haematology Department at Royal Perth Hospital provides a comprehensive array of tertiary level clinical and laboratory services.
Clinical services include the management of:
- General haematologic illness such as anaemia, ITP, haematologic manifestations of generalised disease and Gauchers’ Disease;
- Haematologic malignancies such as Hodgkins’ disease, lymphoma, acute and chronic leukemia, myeloma;
- Disorders of haemostasis and thrombosis such as Haemophilia, DVT and PE.
The department has a dedicated Thrombosis and Haemostasis Service (including the state adult haemophilia service) and Bone Marrow Transplant Service (including the state adult allografting service).
Plasmapheresis services are provided for haematologic and non haematologic indications.
The department provides a 24-hour service for urgent assessment of acutely sick patients as well as outpatient clinics on most weekdays.
