Accreditation achieved

June 26, 2017

Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) recently passed its accreditation with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) – maintaining its status as a Level 3 teaching hospital.

Royal Perth Bentley Group A/Executive Director Prof Grant Waterer said the reaccreditation recognises RPH’s commitment to excellence in education, teaching and learning and reinforces RPH’s reputation for safe, high quality patient care and efficient services.

“The accreditation, coupled with us having the highest pass rate in the RACP exams for the past two years, shows that our physician training program is of exceptionally high standard and a credit to the hospital,” Grant said.

“This also means that we will not be required to undertake any further reviews until 2020.

“I congratulate all staff on this achievement, and especially note the dedication of Dr Athula Karunayaka and his team in facilitating the accreditation process.”
